Market Sales Manager (West Coast Region)

Though you are a master of the entire sales cycle, from cold call prospecting to exceptional follow-up and account management, you particularly excel at needs analysis and overcoming objections--even when it comes to raw data, you are able to find the narrative between the numbers and sell the story. As a sales person, you are driven by challenges and enjoy collaborating with colleagues to reach team goals. You tend to be more organized than others and have experience using Salesforce or other comparable CRM software. You are motivated by friendly competition and tend to rise to the top sales organizations as an enthusiastic self-starter that champions time management and creative problem solving. And to boot, your partners and prospects LOVE you.
As Market Manager, Brand Advertising Focus you will be expected to drive sales and revenue through the acquisition and development of businesses that partner with Leafly. As prospects and clients come in all shapes and sizes, so too do the solutions that are best for them. Leafly is looking for someone with robust experience in online media sales, building and growing client relationships, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will anticipate, persist, and be a critical thinker always seeking to understand how Leafly’s range of advertising offerings can grow a potential client’s business.
Leafly’s Sales team is a growing group of highly-skilled professionals with a focus on engaging high potential advertisers, and persuading them to incorporate Leafly into their business and marketing strategies. You will be the face of Leafly to prospects and clients, helping small, medium and large businesses alike grow. This opportunity and team is an area for very strong potential growth.

WHAT YOU WOULD BE DOING

- Achieve, ideally exceed ,individual and territory team revenue targets monthly, quarterly and annually
- Take a consultative approach to: acquire retailers to our platform, increase the contract value of existing clientele, understand goals and objectives of our partners and make recommendations to secure renewals, grow revenue, and build stronger partnerships
- Develop and sustain strong partnerships in a strategic territory by providing relevant data insights and high-quality needs-based consulting services to retail and brand partners
Ownership: We meet our commitments consistently, take projects to completion, and deliver results.
- Continuously promote and develop retail partners’ high engagement with Leafly’s full suite of offerings to ensure adoption and increase utilization of tools and opportunities.
- Drive revenue and market share in a defined territory to meet or exceed revenue targets; manage and improve existing client & agency relationships by providing expert-level insights
- Consistently evaluate total addressable market opportunity and manage available ad placement inventory
- Use customer relationship management software (Salesforce) to log all communication and record vital account and contact information
- Work closely with leadership on sales strategy and forecast in order to create and manage a robust, healthy sales pipeline and funnel
- Peer to peer coaching and modeling growth mindset for (Market Managers and Customer Success Managers) on Leafly and industry methodologies
- Work closely and collaboratively with the Sales Leadership Team and territory partners to develop and deliver an appropriate, relevant, and effective narrative for prospect and partner communications
- Monitor competition by gathering and reporting current marketplace intel (pricing, products, new services, marketing strategies and merchandising techniques) to Sales Leadership
- Fully understand federal and provincial rules and regulations surrounding cannabis, cannabis retail, and advertising/marketing cannabis within assigned territory
- Enthusiastic about traveling to visit retailers, up to 50% of the time
- Maintain expert industry knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional group/events
- Work independently as well as coordinate shared effort as part of a global sales team
- Conduct regular self-learning to improve skills and influence

WHAT YOU BRING:
- 5+ years of sales experience at a media publisher or advertising agency in a sales or business development role
- Existing client and agency relationships a plus
- Passionate, energetic and highly motivated, with strong lead generation abilities
- Ability to self-start, work independently, and produce outcomes quickly
- Creative problem-solving skills and a commitment to execution of task ; solution oriented
- Excellent written, verbal, in-person, and video conference communications skills
- Proficient in Salesforce CRM, Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Mac systems and other digital marketing systems and social media networks
- Knowledgeable and passionate for cannabis industry and advertising sales
- Enthusiastic about traveling to visit retailers & brands, up to 50% of the time. Motor vehicle driving record check will be conducted after conditional offer of employment is extended.

Seattle, WA Pay Range
- $110,000-$130,000 On Target Earnings ($88k-$104k base salary with potential to earn $22k-$26k in variable incentive compensation)
- Salary will be adjusted based on geographic location.
